The SMS won't show up in the user's inbox, thereby making the overall process decluttered
This seems to be the new way of generating OTPs and channelizing the work. This reduces a user's effort of deviating from the existing apps and turning to authenticate.
This way Android Oreo can actually channelize the entire process of authentification. The entire method is simplistic and channelized in accordance with the standalone needs of the user.
